Actually, the CHP still runs all white commercial enforcement units. You will generally spot them sitting outside of weigh stations.

If memory serves me the beacons on top did not rotate. -They had four sealed beams that just flashed in alternating sequence. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

You're absolutely right, MR.

You don't see too many "all white" CHP cars. Most of the time, they are the Shamu colors. I realize that is an old Caprice, but do they still have any marked white ones in service?

BTW, I live in VA.....so I only see CA cars on-line or on television.

For a while in the mid to late 80s, the CHP's commercial vehicle enforcement unit ran vehicles in regular factory colors like blue, reg, green, silver, etc., with a white front door so they would blend in a little better with traffic while still being a marked car. Today, many (if not all) of the CHP's K-9 cars as well as several Camaros are solid white and fully marked.

Rod,

I still remember the night when I had to walk to Kinko's on Colorado Blvd. for a couple of miles in order to copy this photos among with the other CHP cars...that was exactly 10 years ago, and here we are doing the same stuff!
Best regards
