"Wouldn't all those lights bother the driver of the police car?"
DUH? Hello? Anyone home in there? Do you think the lights are pointed at the driver? LEDs are directional and have little or no flash back on the glass. The other lights have shrouds or covers to prevent the light from coming back. It's all about being seen. High visibility. The sooner traffic sees your car approaching, the quicker they will yield the right of way. At highway speeds, a vehicle needs a lot more distance to stop or move out of the way to avoid an obstacle. Having to make a last second evasive manuever at 70mph is one less thing a trooper needs to worry about when he's on his way to save your life.
Anyone know where I can find the beauty rings just like the ones pictured here on the MN State Trooper cruiser?? I can get the caps from the dealer, but not the rings.
I find it nice to see pictures of cars from my home state on the internet. I also like the website very much and will be returning.

This picture looks like it was taken in front of the Illinois State Police Armory building in Springfield. However it could be at a court house somewhere also.
Are those non-rotating 4 way sealed beam flashers on the top? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ yes, they were. I always thought they were stupid but in reflection, they were VERY visible.
i have a 1992 camaro that used to be a Dallas, TX interceptor car and i was trying to find pictures of it. if anyone has any information about that year of police cars please email me and tell me about it. Thanks.

This cruiser is from the Illinois State Police District 15, which patrols the tollways in northern Illinois. This is the only district in the ISP that has marked slicktops. The district gets its funding from the Illinois Tollway Authority rather than ISP genral fund. That is why they often have equipment you won't see in other ISP districts.
i love police car pictures. however, they are no good if you donot tell the town or city and state that they are from. my email addy is callenderlake@netscape.net. please send me a city, town and state last. thank you.
