The Website is GREAT! However, I'm a big "slicktop" and unmarked cruiser fan. This photo album had some good pictures, but I could not open them to get a better look.

Do you have any info on this car. I don't remember seeing any of these u-bolt Ford's in the fleet. Did the state not order many of them? ________________________ Because of budget constraints and the need for better fuel economy, starting in about 1978 the ISP and Chicago PD experimented and bought several makes of cars that were non-conventional mid-size sedans including the LTDII, Chevy Malibu, Ford Fairmont and Dodge Aspen/Plymouth Volare. By '79, the full size Ford LTD Crown Victoria was downsized and was actually smaller and lighter than the mid-size LTDII and the ISP switched back to the 'big' Fords and the R-body Dodge St Regis. Several of the ISP's small cars remained in service until the mid 1980s.
