Not to start a debate regarding North American vs. European police vehicles, but this car does actually stack up favourably in terms of accelaration and top speed. According to 2007 Michigan State Police testing, most Ford and Chev police package sedans and SUV's reach 60 mph in the mid 8 second range and top out at between 130-140 mph. The only notable exception is the hemi powered Dodge Charger and Magnum, which both approach 150 mph top speed.

Yes, thank God for that JD.

It's actually a chief rescue unit and not a real cop car in that sense.

Saab 9-5 2,3t BioPower SportCombi 2006
2,3L 4-cylinder turbo 185 hp
Front-wheel drive
Maximum torque: 206 lb. ft @ 1800 rpm
0-60 mph: 8,8 sec
Top speed: 135 mph

Drives on ethanol fuel (“BioPower”) as well as regular gasoline. When driven on ethanol fuel horse power will increase to 210. Also the exhaust of carbon dioxide decreases by app. 20 %. In Sweden these cars get a reduction in taxes in addition to free parking in most cities.
