new austin police stealth highway enforcement car...even the spotlight is painted the body color.

this particular agency has gone through several color schemes. the cars were a gunsmoke blue color at one time. they then went to a navy color with a red and white stripe going across the vehicle. they then chose the traditional black and white scheme. they originally had a rather large shield that resembled their shoulder patch on the door. they then opted to go with this particular decal package on the door. i think it looks rather clean, if you ask me.

And another thing, half wit, look over on the left side of your keyboard. Do you see the button that says "caps lock"? Press it once. I get tired of seeing you scream at everybody.

Criminy, if you are too lazy to push that button, why can't you be lazy enough to quit leaving comments?

I'd bet they chose those graphics because they don't want to make their car look like a Galls catalog circusmobile. You sir, have absolutely no taste. And you can't spell worth a dang, either.

I WONDER IS THIS PERTICULAR GRAPHICS HAVE HIGH VISABILITY AT NIGHT..ITS A DULL POLICE CAR AND I BET THEY DID THAT TO SAVE ON FUNDS

This just begs for a new prime-time crime drama entitled "P.S.I. - Police Sticker Inspectors" -dot-dot-dot...

Anonymous wrote: Tuesday, February 20, 2007 - 11:50

So you're saying that with the hash marks slanted the way they are it will cause someone to crash?

We'd better contact the police sticker inspectors and remedy this situation right away.

Maybe they just thought it looked nice so the BPD put them on there.

The striped barberpole, or chevron style reflective sheeting panels on the rear bumper are reversed contrary to recommendations of safety experts. Left side should slant down to the left and the right side should slant down to the right. The idea is prevent rear end collisions for which police cruisers are quite prone. A check of highway sign manual (MUTCD) will describe rational if interested in more details.

it's manufactured by sho-me/able2 products, the model 32.LED49. this is their only "full size" light bar in their inventory. they're known more for their grill/deck lights, becaons and mini-bars.

Guest JD wrote: Sunday, December 17, 2006 - 16:23

Anyone know who makes this light bar?

It looks like a 2WD truck. We have some 4x4 GMC and Chevy's just like this one, but outfitted with prisoner cages that we drive for patrol.

Guest Andrew K wrote: Friday, December 15, 2006 - 3:49

Nice, I like it. anyone know if it is a 4x4 or not?

and this comment is based on your extensive travel to exactly how many third world countries? i would hardly categorize missing hubcaps and dirt qualification as a third world environment. this is a very small department that patrols a semi-rural area. as a matter of fact, this is one of three cars they have. they don't have the operating budget a large metropolitain area might have to be ordering scores or replacement hubcaps.

This looks like a car from a third world country.
