Gosh, is my face red! "Intelligent", following too close; After all, people do make mistakes. It's certainly not my intention to offend anyone. You see, positive participation is key to the success of a hobby like this. I'm just concerned about "bad press", that's all. So let's all do our best to support the police, the car collectors, and the participants. I look forward to seeing everyone next time. Stay safe. . .and keep it between the lines!

"intellengent"?
Since you are the self appointed grammar police, why don't you invest in a dictionary?

This restoration looks a lot better than that other 1992 MSP Mustang that it trailered everywhere it goes. This one has no bra like that other one. I don't think that the MSP put bra's on their cars...

Anyway, this is a great looking car. Can't wait to see it at a show sometime.

If memory serves me correctly, the CHP did not buy Crown Vics in 1995. I think it was all Caprices at that time, right?

Just curious, nice car...

Absolutely not. More like a respectful misunderstanding with the good people of the Oakland County Sheriffs Department while enroute to another show in Ohio. They were concerned since arresting an impersonator in their county the week prior. The issue has since been resolved.

By the way, {yippee} try writing in complete sentences and using less fragments for a change. After all, as collectors we are all intellengent and respectful people. Let's try to show it as much as we can. In the long run, it's helpful for everyone involved in the law enforcement process as well as the police car collecting hobby. Thanks.

Ah, nice car....but what is that thing sticking up from the front of the hood? ;)

The '81 Fury was the last of the "big" Chryslers, along with its twin brother, the Dodge St. Regis (once used by the PA State Police), and the last one I know of to use the 360 V-8. Chrysler only put 318s in its later cars, right? The 360 could have worked, though, as it is essentially the same size engine block.

Good photo.....that show must have been quite a lot of fun!

_______~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~______________

That is a side-facing red "stop" light, commonly found on police vehicles pre-1960s. OPP kept that tradition for a lot longer, I reckon.

Good photo of a good cop car! With a 318 or 360 under the hood, it was pretty good at catching the bad guys. When I was living in Pennsylvania during the 1980s, I used to see lots of Aspen/Volare sedans used for public service. Heck, even the military police at the Army depot used them (but theirs had the slant-6 engine)!

My favorite MOPAR remains the 1977-78 Fury/Monaco, however. A cousin of mine once owned an ex-PA squad with the big 440 V-8, four-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust. It would not do good burnouts because of the low-gear "lockout" on Chrysler patrol cars, but it had a top end very close to the 140-mph limit on the speedometer.

Ah, those were the days!
