Chryslers have unit bodies, why did they order Plymouths after this incident?

The County Police didn't keep this make of vehicle for long. The main reason that we switched was that we lost a patrolman due to the "Uni-body" construction. Off. Paul Sweeney was driving this car one Saturday night when he was rearened by a teenager driver. The car's frame shifted from the impact on the right rear qt.panel, making all the doors to shift with the body and frame therefore sealing the officer inside the car. The car caught fire and because the doors were jammed the officer caught on fire inside the car because the gas tank ruptured (before auto safety tanks were produced). Paul finall broke out and crawed through a window. He survived for 30 days before dying of his burns. We had a major push to make police cars safer.
