That comment might have been cute if it weren't for the fact that this car is from NEW YORK instead of Louisianna and Sheriff's car in the movie was GREEN. Aside from that, you're 100% dead-on.

"You picked the wrong parish to haul ass through boy, nobody cuts and runs on sheriff JW Pepper, and it's him talking, by the by." Classic.

I'm sorry if this isn't a worth while question, but how much use is a pick up truck to a Police Dept.?

Guest Cdt Lowe 218Barnet wrote: Saturday, March 1, 2008 - 8:50

Are there half Blue Lights on those cars

Guest Cdt Lowe, 218Barnet wrote: Saturday, March 1, 2008 - 8:36

What Light is that?

I love Chevy Bel Airs, ever since I saw Live and Let Die, which strongly over uses Bel Airs. Chevy Must've sponsored the film or something.

This one is actually a '78. In 76 & 77 they used the full size Gran Furys.

Anybody know if they used this make/model exclusively in '77 - and what they used in '76?

No traffic on the T-way today boys...............I think that overpass is the road into Arden south of the Harriman exit.

Yes, we did. In 79, 80 & 81, we used the combination of Dodge St. Regis' (all 3 yrs), Chrysler Newports (79) and Plymouth Furys (80 & 81)

Anybody know if this agency used the St. Regis in '81?

Are you selling that lightbar? I'm a Rockland county native & resoring a Clarkstown St Regis. I need one for my restoration.

Guest Tom Sheehy wrote: Wednesday, October 11, 2006 - 18:41

Clarkstown used a combination of St Regis/Newports/Gran Furys throughout the R-body years. There is now a better pic of a St Regis that I contributed that is in this album. As to the lightbar, I am currently restoring one of these, but I'm having a problem with one of the strobes that isn't working properly and I'm having trouble finding parts.

Not be be a stick in the mud, but that car is a 1968 model. The 1967 body style was a bit "cleaner" in appearance, but the easiest way to tell is to look for the side marker lights, which no '67 will have.

They were not put on cars until the 1968 models came out - as per a new law that required them on every passenger car that year and later.

Anyway.....beautiful car!!!!

Thanks for pointing it out. The caption has been fixed.

There was a discussion on the lightbars used by Clarkstown on the CCDC discussion forums, featuring some nice pictures of a Clarkstown PD st Regis. So if you're a member, check that out.

I believe clarkstown used the Siant Regis in '81. I'm looking to restore the one I have as such. Anybody have any pics to post?
