A v-6 is not always a bad thing. At Eglin AFB we don't do a lot of high speed work so the v-6 Impala dose just fine. Maybe Fayette County is the same way, or maybe this is a traffic or some other special use car. That said, the 5.7 HEMI will earn "cool points" for any officer that drives one.

That has to be the worst police car I have ever seen!! I understand that chief there has screwed things up so badly that moral in in the tank and people laugh at the police there.

All of the 06 and 07 ISP cars are set up for Starcom and don't have the whip antenna. Starcom is now in use in several districts. An 800 MGZ trunked system like Starcom has been used in 15 and DC for several years and that why there cars didn't have the whip antenna.

I know district chicago and district 15 don't use whip intennas and the other districts used to, but is there a whip intenna on this squad when the state police is switching to starcom 21?

They also have new black and whites. Close to the CHP design. Right now thier fleet has three designs. The two above (Left older, right newer) And the newest: Black and whites. Three designs all at the same time, un-believable.

Yes it is a District 22 car. And yes District 15 does always have a little nicer stuff than the other districts.

Everyone sees the Charger and thinks Hemi. You do know that Dodge makes a V6 Chager in the Police Package, right. I actually own a V6 Charger and I'd bet it out run my 2007 CVPI any day.

i don't see why everyone rags on the smaller departments using these dodge chargers. these cars end up costing almost as much as a comparably equipped cvpi. i'm sure the impala isn't that far off. several cities have budgets that allow for the purchase of their cars. some even receive state or federal grants for the purchase of police equipment. i don't see how this car is a waste of money. pingree grove needed a police car. pingree grove purchased a police car. i don't see where the dodge police package brochure specifies these cars should only be purchased by large departments, highway patrol agencies or the like. dodge is making their foray into the police vehicle market after the intrepid didn't make much headway. with all of the chargers that are appearing in small municipalities, large metro areas, state agencies and federal agencies everywhere, it would make sense that the chief of this department would want something that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but something that is functional and will meet their needs.

Good thing it doesn't snow. Rear wheel drive will come in handy with all of the speeding tractors.

What a waste of horsepower (excuse the pun) when the highest speed limit is 25MPH. I think a moped or Yugo would be more than sufficient. I guess the chief can get from stop sign to stop sign quickly though. All in all, it is a very nice looking car, and even more so for the price!

Sure will look sharp for chasing those high speed chases on tractors or when the cows get loose.

Its a smaller town west of Chicago. The mayor is a toothless hick, and the police department is ran by Barney and Andy. The only thing this town has going for it is the nice police car. Glad you like it.
