"george", did I not tell you to find somewhere else to play? Now you are trying to make us believe you are an Iowa trooper?

and the chevy part can go too.

i think they should have used different colors and the hood should be the same color as the rest. but I still wouldn’t like the graphics

the jetstrobe is just as old a model as the jetstream. they were both released at about the same time. the newest model of the "jet" family is the led model called the "jetsolaris."

Guest mike wrote: Thursday, January 18, 2007 - 14:56

that is the older jetSTREAM model lightbar but one of the new leaders is the federal signal jetSTROBE. I have the 10 strobe version with alleys, takedowns, worklights and independent front and rear controls. oh its so nice.

It's better than what they had.

Nice sign on this trooper's garage. Now, if only they could take the red and green above his garage and slap 'em on top of his or her slick-top...

i dont know mutch about iowa but Texas High Way Patrol have never used cages in there units due to the fact that there take home cars..and other reasons but not budget resons that i know of....

William,

Troopers drive their old units to the fleet headquarters in Des Moines and turn them in them selfs when they get their new cars. I like the new cars too. At first they took a little to get use to, but now I like em.

I don't know the reason that Iowa troopers don't have cages. However usually state troopers have to carry a lot of paperwork and equipment in their squads that local officers are able to keep at their PD. This is due to the fact that state officers deal with many differnt local jurisdictions and are often working many miles from their headquarters. A lot of state agencies transport prisoners in the front seat and use the back seat to store paperwork and equipment. Therefore a lot of troopers would prefer a squad without a cage.

Thanks for these good shots of this new unit Chad Weaver. Very nice. Do the troopers there keep the old unit they had till they transfer there stuff into the new and a fleet or motor pool place picks the old one up? Noticed the old unit in the drive way in the first picture.

I have always liked the Iowa cruiser. I recall someone told me about a budget thing with installing prison cages in the back along with traditional looks. I have yet to see 1 car with a prisoner barrier in ISP. Maybe my luck or just seeing supervisor cruisers but are there any that have a cage?
