Another surplus Kansas Highway Patrol vehicle that saw its public life extended as a police vehicle as small town police vehicle. Interesting color! The KHP also had some Crown Vic's that were metallic red.
We have about 15 thousand on our patrol car with the Hemi, and have had ZERO maintenance or performance issues with the Charger. Also generates lots of positive comments from the public. Best move we ever made.

Nah... The only person who would possibly object to your pict would be one particular gal who still, to this day, refers to herself as "Aunt Enna." I seriously doubt that the KHP would ever object to your photos.
This agency is the Cherryvale Police Dept. It is in Montgomery County.

I think that this will be a good move for the KHP. From what I hear from several troopers is that these cars are hard to recognize as patrol cars and maybe they will catch more violators. I hope the charger will hold up. I am sure it will.
I thought I saw one of these working an accident on the news in the Kansas City Area. for a moment, I thought I was seeing things.
Nice to see KHP using MOPARs again!

15 were purchased as a test for the KHP. We will test them for a year of 2 and see how they work. As of today, they have done great, but only time will tell. We only have about 5000 on them and there's alot of things that can go wrong. We (KHP)will only purchase rear wheel drive cars as long as they last. We tried the Ford Tauras one time and those were crap. We took them off the road and gave them away to other non-road staff in the KHP. Anyway we hope they work because if Ford does decide to throw the Crown Victoria away, the Charger (if it holds up) will replace the Ford. Anyway hope this helps on some of the questions I have been reading. By the way, I am one of the 15 Troopers testing them. BE SAFE TO ALL

Does the Kansas Highway Patrol keep buying both Ford Police Interceptors and Dodge Chargers because they are real-wheel drives?

Back in the muscle car days Mopars were never known for their good looks just their awesome motors. Guess the Charger will carry on that legacy.

(P.S. I'm not out to antagonize the KHP - if y'all would prefer your photos not be posted, I'll happily take it down.)
Nice to see KHP using MOPARs again!
