Believe it or not the NOPD is getting new cars actually w/ new graphics and LED lightbars. They should be coming out in about 2 and 1/2 months. Saw it on the news the other day saw a preview of it they look great.

Yeah, they probably just didn't like 'em. That's gotta be it.

The NOPD Impalas with the smaller and more logos and strobe lights were donated by the Louisiana State Police after the hurricane. They were new additions to the State Police fleet, but I guess they didn't like them and gave them to the NOPD.

The car I saw was an Impala with NOPD on the door in small letters and it was a simple design.

The only two other type of cars I have seen the NOPD get post Katrina are the 30 or so 97 crown vics sent to them by a company featured on this site. Besides that, I've seen them with some new Impalas that have NOPD written on the door in blue letters. It's a pretty simple car and I'm guessing those cars were also donated to them. As for your question jw, I doubt they have new graphics on the cars made by the NOPD or city of New Orleans because of the city's obvious financial problems. Sadly for the officers, I doubt the city will purchase any new police cars anytime soon because of that.

Last night I was watching a program on NOPD at this years Mardi Gras. I noticed one there cruisers had smaller graphics than this and an all blue strobe bar. Does anybody know if they are using differnt graphics and lightbars? Or would that be a car someone gave them after Katrina?
