Very few departments want to spend the money to custom-paint their cars today. Those "Rizzo Blue" cars were the sharpest. I think the red cars were probably discontinued because they were too easily confused with fire chief cars.

I liked the Blue the most.(I grew up with them) However, I dont think the red cars were that bad. They were unique in a way. I dont particularlly care for the new markings which were put into effect as a cost saving measure.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you if you say that those red cars they drove in the late 60's were sharp.

what were they thinking? Philly almost always had sharp cars, red, Rizzo blue and the 2nd generation of the blue gold stripe. these graphics are pathetic
