    the new Impalas are NOT avilable with V8's for the police package. The 9c1 Police Package Impala's only come with the 3.9V6. The Tahoes right now are Going to the Tactical Teams and K9's with the occassional few going to some of the Patrol Sgts.

    The Hemi Chargers are only going to the Traffic Division. Mainly to Replace the old Camaros

    IF patrol gets the Chargers, they will more than likely get the V6's Everyday Patrol Officers in Dallas dont need the Hemis;

    Dallas police are not refurbishing any police vehicles. They are primarily using the new Impala V8's and Chevy Tahoes.

    they're also about to put into service 50 new dodge charger's, and yes they're hemi's.

    hmm well to add to the topic what do you all expect from a cheap affortable american car with a v/6?i work with diffrent kind of cars and the intrepid is on the top list to have engine or other mechanicle problems.due to the cheap coast it takes to manufacture one..they look nice tho.and i hear dallas pd since they cant purchase cvpi's from ford the current one's are being refurbished.

    Sorry about what I said but from the officers I talked to they said it was having interior problems. 3 days after Dallas Police got their Intrepid's, I talked to an officer and he showed me that they already had to duct tape the glove compartment. There weren’t as many problems with the car itself but it was the quality. That’s just what I've herd.

    why would it matter if the intrepid wasn't well liked? the charger is a completely different platform that shares absolutely nothing with the intrepid. according to research, and the msp test, the charger did exceptionally well as compared to other police vehicles that were tested.

    besides, from what i remember, the intrepid brake problems could have been solved if a different brake fluid had been used. also, the msp tests proved that the intrepid police package wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be.

    I just read and article in the Dallas Morning News about the Dodge Charger and it says Dallas Police has ordered 50!! It surprises me because the Intrepid was not liked at all by Dallas Police.

    They're going to departments that don't try to fix tests and file BS lawsuits .

    The Dallas Police Department buys Dodge Charger with V6 or V8 and the 2006 Chevy Impala as the Dallas Police Department is unwilling to buy the 2006 Ford Police Interceptors. Both Dodge Charger and Chevy Impala are fairly competitive.

    Ford won't sell PI's to Dallas or anyone else with an active lawsuit against them. Unless that lawsuit has been dropped, there won't be any 2006 Ford's in service with DPD.

    Is the Dodge Interpid still in service? Only handful police department may have the Dodge Interpid. Someone says that the Dallas Police Department does not intend to get powerful Dodge Charger since the performance of the Dodge Interpid may have been unimpressive. Although the Dallas Police Deparment has several 2005 Chevy Impalas, the performance of the Impala could have been dismay due to front-wheel drive. As a result, there is only one choice, which is the Ford Police Interceptor. I do not find that the Dallas Police Department has 2006 Ford Police Interceptors. Where are they?
