Guest JOETEX wrote: Wednesday, December 27, 2006 - 7:01

also about that switch to white...it is now a state law.for all texas police vehicles to be either all white or b/w

Guest JOETEX wrote: Wednesday, December 27, 2006 - 6:50

i disagree to the cities switching back to b/w ...its the state mandated law...as here in Texas the law requiers a police unit..to be all white or black and white ..no other colour

IV BEEN TO TONS OF OTHER POLICE CAR WEB SITES AND FEW TO NONE OF THE PICTURES ARE REAPEATS..OR SOME OF THE CONTRIBUTERS ARE THE SAME AS THE ONES HERE

Guest JOETEX wrote: Wednesday, December 27, 2006 - 6:34

I HONESTLY THINK THIS POLICE GRAPHIC IS UNIQUE AND IS A BIG CHANGE FROM THOSE DULL B/W WITH LITTLE TI NO VISABILITY BESIDES THE BLACK/WHITE,,I'D SAY THIS DESIGHN SAY' A FRIENDLY COLORFULL POLICE DPT. AND A COOL SCHOOL

I agree too. What's sad is that this Durango's graphics are mild compared to some other touchy, feely, friendly designs that are out there. LAPD stuck with black and whites all these years and look what the trend is all across the country- switching back to black and whites.

They're going to departments that don't try to fix tests and file BS lawsuits .

I absolutely agree with what you're saying.

I agree somewhat, but it still beats the heck out of that "Pimp-Mobile" Sheriff's Caddy out of Ohio that's somewhere on this site (Under Ohio, I'm guessing... I'd look, but I don't want to see it again.)

Excellent! Whoever came up with these graphics...DON'T CHANGE THEM!

I hope that one day someone puts up a pic of an HPD "Radio Patrol" blue and white from 1968 with Beacon ray and twin sirens on the roof.

Anonymous wrote: Saturday, December 23, 2006 - 14:20

This is absolutely sweet beyond all possible comprehension....let's hope they are a rounding success.

I'm sorry, but I've got a rant here and I hope everyone bears with me. I know that officers have very little choice in what they drive or how they are marked, but I'm kind of a traditionalist when it comes to emergency vehicles. I think that a police car of any agency should show a certain air of authority, discipline, and dignity. Many new graphics I believe do not represent this and look like someone either wanted to look like a frat house party machine or got a "certain" equipment suppliers catalog and went nuts. There is also too many that use the same designs. While times and graphics change, it is still an official vehicle and is, at least ideally, supposed to inspire confidence with the populace. There are some agencies that haven't changed their patrol cars appearance in generations (LAPD) and others that are instantly recognizable for the same reasons (Tx DPS).
I'm not trying to step on toes...just my own rant and opinion on all these new "graphics" in this era.

These graphics were short-lived and I am glad....they looked tacky and undistinguished to me.
The graphics used before this and the one in use now are far more professional appearing.

I dunno, this anonymous contributer thinks they graphics are great...

Anonymous wrote: Saturday, December 23, 2006 - 13:54

Looks like something out of Europe.
Hopefully they don't make too many arrests...be kinda hard fitting someone in the back seat!

would also like to add, is the one one the right, the white car a new 06 or 07 fcv? or is the sun causing a illusion with the shape of the body on the front?

El Paso PD also has the Ford Focus in its traffic division. Mainly used downtown for traffic or parking enforcement. I would also like to add the Focus is a good small 4 door sedan and does have a good acceleration though not your everyday pursuit car.
