Germany - Hessen Police
One officer was trapped in the car and as the guy tried to hit the
police care again, the officer fired several shots with an MP 5 H&K through
the window of his patrol car.
This stopped the man and wounded him seriously. He was arrested, the trial has not been yet. Five officers were injured in the crashes. Thanks to Sven Kouril.

Here you see a picture from Hessen; the latest cars in Nordrhein-Westfalen have smaller bars and smaller blue lights.

Why do they have the big lightbars?

These are unique to Germany, where everything is set down in statute - including the sort of lights emergency vehicles can use. It's also why Germany doesn't have wail/yelp sirens.

"These big bars are because the german police likes putting led displays on the back of them, telling messages like "STOP", "SLOW" or similar. can't say why the one to the left don't have."

It does. It´s just hidden behind that green top. Same thing on the front.

yeah, that's supposed to be whenever, not "whever"

"I would not need one as there is a car parked outside with a new LED bar on it, so i can have all the fun i want for free."

i'm glad to see that you are using whatever emergency vehicle it is that's parked outside as it was intended to be used. in case you didn't know, the car parked outside with a new led bar on it isn't supposed to be used to run red lights or to avoid traffic whever you feel like it. they're not toys to be used "for fun."

Looking from west of "the pond", I'd say most of the Brit/Euro cars are far more advanced than many agencies allow here. Those "message board" light bars would be particularly useful in controlling the crazies we get behind the wheel!

Behind us... really. I was shown some equipment "you" would never see at a convention that a british agency made. I would say there up there with us. As for buying this, I would not need one as there is a car parked outside with a new LED bar on it, so i can have all the fun i want for free.

"Why do they have them big light bars?"

Because it's Europe and they're about 15 years behind those of us in the civilized world.

And to answer your next question, NO. They are not for sale.
