Actually it's a 66. The only dif is the 67 had turn signal on the bumper and double headlamps...

We changed it. Thanks for pointing that out.

This is a 66 Ford Custom, not a 65. The front reds are steady burn. The siren is a C4B Federal Mechanical type.

Typo, changed to 66, thanks

Are the red lights steady burn or flashing and is the siren mechanical or early electronic? Thanks!

Jeff- Seen your Fury at Ripon over the years and is one of my favorites. Did NHP ever use 73 Polara's?

Sharp

Guest Jerred wrote: Thursday, February 1, 2007 - 15:54

This looks really sharp, the lights aren't overdone.

Guest Jerred wrote: Thursday, February 1, 2007 - 15:52

These look a lot better than the Mustangs-as police cars at least.

Guest Jerred wrote: Thursday, February 1, 2007 - 15:49

Nothing looks better than a dolled-up Dodge!!

Guest Jerred wrote: Thursday, February 1, 2007 - 15:48

I like the front LEDs

Guest Jerred wrote: Thursday, February 1, 2007 - 15:44

I agree with JD,these rims are much harder keep clean, they're virtually maintenence free and they look good.

First Dodge Diplomat's (circa 1987) that got wig-wag headlights. I remember people never saw the overhead light bar, but boy they got out of the way when the wig-wags were going!

This Dodge Diplomat (with chrome delete) was just like my first squad car when I joined Oceanside Police (California) in 1985. Never let me down and always delivered me safely to my calls, like all Chrysler products did in the day. Had a 318 4bbl with tan interior just like this one pictured. Only difference is mine had a Federal Twin-Sonic red & blue light bar. Use to whisle like crazy at high speeds.
When Dodge stopped making police cars, I went to traffic and ride a BMW now for the last 17 years. Few more years to go and then I'll be on the hunt for an 'ole Diplomat.

VERY nicely executed!

a couple of bones to pick about front LED placement, but it all melts away when you look at the graphics kit. well done, good choice for the specific car....

any more info on this cruisah? is it DARE, school yard stunner, parade or RMP regular?

its a GT so its upwards of thirty for the chassis alone, plus the four grand into the twin supervisors and the other aux. LEDs (which seem to be everywhere)

not to mention the MDT, the radios, the officer junk.... expensive runner, that.

i would not mind getting pulled over by this one

It's a recruitment vehicle. If there are people who won't apply for a municipal job with guaranteed benefits, financial security, advancement potential and a pension JUST BECAUSE the recruiter drove a minivan, then you are better off working at Burger Baron and sitting in your apartment each night watching Dancing with the Stars. Your local police department isn't really going to miss not being able to tap into your vast potential because you've already shown that you have nothing to offer.

Well "Officer" Dan, if you were a REAL cop, you would know that posting anonymously is the best way to stay out of trouble. Why is it that you call yourself officer Dan, yet you are using a high school email account?

Guest Andy wrote: Sunday, October 29, 2006 - 17:34

Love this car in color. Got Highway Patrol episodes on DVD, but they're in black and white only.

Well, Image is just part of the whole cop thing. If you were a REAL cop, #1: You might post something for a name other than "anonymously". #2: You wouldn't have to be reminded of this little fact, because you would ALREADY KNOW IT!!
