No, that was a common piece on ALF engines, and it was mostly used in the 60's, and this truck is maybe at least 35 years old, they were'nt only in Texas, in Northampton Massachussetts, the entire department used these speakers on rigs exactly like this one.

That American LaFrance engine would make a nice restoration project.And that low profile siren speaker on top is a little odd looking,i have never seen a speaker like that on anything as old as that engine.
