I purchased this 1973 Plymouth Fury II in May, 2004. I picked it up in NY and drove it all the way to Dallas without a problem.

The car equipped to represent an Illinois State Police unit. All electrical equipment was installed by Bill Myers on the way to the car's debut at the NYC Police museum show in June, 2005. Graphics by Dave Sechrest were applied by Greg Reynolds at the onset of the NYC show.

The car was shown at all three of the big shows: NYC, Chicago and Ripon. After the Ripon show in October, 2006, the car was sold while I returned home. It now resides near Yosemite in California.

We in this hobby strive to make the cars as close to actual as possible. Secondly, for the information you are looking for, consider joining the copcar dot com forum. There are people there who can answer your questions as to color codes, spot lights, red lamps, etc. But as a warning, they will be totally against the idea of making an NYPD car as you are describing.
