If you're still looking here, check your local laws. Every state has different vehicle code guidelines as to what you can and can't do. The laws may be driven by the paint color, the age of the vehicle, the type of registration you have on the vehicle (i.e. historical vehicle plates), etc. No two states are the same and it'll take a fair amount of digging to find the correct answer.

If in doubt ask a cop. Most beat cops probably won't know off the top of their heads. You may have to visit, write to, or call your local PD and ask to speak to the traffic supervisor. They'll usually help you out, as long as you're reasonably pleasant and don't come across as a wannabe cop.

i am beginning a restoration of an early 70s plymouth as well...i want to use a full dress package(ie;lights,decals,radio)what repercussions are there with the local police? the car will be for shows and parades with a historic plate.....love your fury
