What District is this?

Guest John wrote: Saturday, July 7, 2007 - 19:36

Thank you sir!!!

Guest jw wrote: Thursday, July 5, 2007 - 16:47

Colleges and universities in Illinois are authorized by law to have police depts that have the same police powers as any other municipal police dept.

Guest John wrote: Thursday, July 5, 2007 - 0:20

Is this a real police department - or security...campus safety...no police powers?

Just curious...

It was probably on its way to the state auction by looking at the writing on the window.

Whoops: Violation of 625 ILCS 5/3-413 (a)
NO FRONT PLATE
Consider this a stern warning Trooper. Also, don't forget your silly hat, because only you can prevent forest fires.

I'm not sure if this particular car is still in service. But, ISP district 15 still uses a few. They are mostly used as spare cars as most of them are not outfitted with in-car cameras.

But these were damn nice cars. It's a real shame Chevy stopped the production of the best police car ever.

This car looks nice, but it's a clunker. I was with DSO from 95 til 06. The old quartermaster, Donny Schmidt told me that they bought this car off of a couple hippies who previously rebuilt it.

I've also heard rumors from other senior guys that this car was actually the very first DSO car ever put in service. It used to bear the number 3.

Regardless, I rode this in a parade back in 99 and it kept dying / overheating, hence the clunker part. It's in need of some TLC

So you think this is funny, huh? If you knew this man, you wouldn't think so. He was an honorable, proud police officer for over 35 years, well into his 70s and still patrolling the streets of Bartlett and running circles around the young "whippersnappers". And then they forced him to retire in the mid 1990s. It killed him. Literally.

So laugh all you want, Mr. Pingree Grove critic. But Howard Correll was my friend and a good person.

Find another place to play, like a Pingree Grove council meeting.

Spectacular car but if I'm not wrong looking back to "The Blues Brothers" final chase scenes the sirens sounded a little... "peepsqueackish"(??!!)
