Interesting. we have 3 brand units in this district all having blue domes used for regular service. Either it was handy at the time it rolled into the shop or someone goofed.

My guess is a odd color car bought, or just maybe they are going blue. I thought white is what they were using and stuck too since the early 90's. I know raton has cars with this decal and a light color though, but switched to a blue like the above . This is the first ive seen of this in las vegas, nm. It looks like a 2005 or 04 fcv by the rims and body.

copcar is good for the "Sole." It just reminds some of us that officers still 'walk the beat' so to speak, even if most of 'em are now behind a steering wheel. (Before the automobile, our lawmen rode horses.) Gallup after offenders, anyone?

This was my unit. You should have seen this car lit up. I was told it looked like a UFO it has strobes everwhere from marker lights to tail lights. wish this picture was taken when the unit was clean

Hey Dave,
I no longer work for this department, but you can e-mail me and I'll give you the new address of the departments you seek locally. Texico has again changed boss's and the new cars are black and he has one that is all pimped out. Anyway keep up the good work.

This picture was taken of my car while it was parked in front of my house if you'll notice my wifes car is nice and clean. I wish you would have let me wash my unit before the picture. This picture brings back alot of memories. This was my first new police unit. thanks for the memories

I'm always a little nervous about shooting a car in front of an officer's house, much less knocking on their door and asking them to wash it. I went through your town last fall and tried to find your current units with no luck. Same goes for your TX neighboring dept. Looks like they moved and I've never found your PD.

Thanks,
Dave

If anyone reads this and knows where I can find a good photo of the door emblem to the old emblems I would be greatly appreciated if you let me know. I was up there a while back but there didnt have but a old vehicle and it was so faded it wouldnt even be good for a replica.

these wheels will take trim rings. go to the "what's new" section of the site, and click on the hartford, connecticut, slicktop car. it has the thinner trim rings on them.

hi my name is jim i love your cop car can i by it on monday or yes

I hate when the door moulding is left off when there is no reason to. These graphics don't interfere with it. Put the moulding on!

Correct, a handful of Impalas are in both departments along with a handful of Dodge Interpids.

Guest William wrote: Friday, January 12, 2007 - 17:22

I agree its to the point and low cost with graphics, specially here in NM with tight budgets in small towns.

They do make trim rings for the 03-05 Ford CVPI wheels. They are very thin.

Guest Greg wrote: Friday, January 5, 2007 - 12:04

This Ford is a 2005 model. That's the only year that the am/fm antenna was mounted on the right rear quarter.

Guest Bill! wrote: Friday, January 5, 2007 - 10:35

A lot of Commissioners often forget what a vital role trim rings play in law enforcement...

now, if you look closely at the car (i doubt you have) you'll notice that these wheels will not accept trim rings in lieu of a larger diameter and different backspacing. also you'll notince this car was originally spec'ed out for a door seal, which obviously we dont have here.

i believe this car...looks like an '03..maybe '04? was bought second-hand, the graphics get the job done and don't cost an arm and a leg.

that leaves more money for more important things...like trim rings.

Guest Bill! wrote: Friday, January 5, 2007 - 10:29

Tom, is that just a vinyl overlay, or is it relfective?...difficult to tell from these shots.

Regardless, keep fighting the good fight. we have a similar deterrent to drunk driving in my department, we like to call it Cross Bay Boulevard.

even sober people have a difficult time navigating through it.

Guest ananymous wrote: Thursday, January 4, 2007 - 23:50

Not everything in life is BLACK and WHITE! No creativity. I saw the old models and they looked way better. And for god sakes where are the beauty rings.

Guest Tom wrote: Thursday, January 4, 2007 - 20:53

Graphics aside the vehicle does jump out in your face and that was the intention. DWI is such a problem in the area and to know that the DWI cop might be behind you is an important factor in the prevention methods. Some departments use un-marked cars for DWI apprehension and we decided to attempt to get with the prevention gang and see if we can prevent some crashes

Thanks for the thoughts guya

Newest? Wow didnt know some NM towns still bought this year of car useed or new from dealers or lots, thought everyone was trying to get at least a 2000 FCV in there agency here or a 2000 + Impala.
