Gotham / GCPD! Reminded me of back in the early nineties when Rescue 911 did a show in our locale. The producers bought two brand-new 1990 Caprices, detailed them to perfection including spotlights (not sure where the lightbars came from), filmed their segment, stripped 'em, & then sold them back to the dealer...

hahah you guys are just too paranoid this is a real police car just notice the wear and tear on the front bumper of every day duty work

Guest William wrote: Monday, March 12, 2007 - 22:25

Yea it is strange, but neat. I remember the rail locomotives used these type of lights on the cabs also, didnt know any police used them in the past.

not anymore.....nys has passed a law stating that you can use REAR facing blue light on an emergency vehicle in conjunction with the red.(rear facing only)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The above is close but not correct, delete "Emergency" vehicle and insert "Police" vehicle. Fire trucks & ambulances are expressly prohibited from using blue lights anywhere on the vehicle. Police = rear facing blue. Volunteer FF = blue 360 degrees.
if you look at the orange ez pass in the window. those are the colors used by the nypd so it would suffice to say the vehicle is legit although i do not know what vtf stands for.
Guest traincop wrote: Saturday, November 4, 2006 - 5:34
just for your knowledge this vehicle is assigned to midtown south which was the old 14th pct.
I recently read that the New York State Police wanted to start using blue lights in combination with the red lights and the legislature prohibited them from doing so because blue is reserved for volunter fireman.
Guest Bob K wrote: Thursday, February 23, 2006 - 16:36
Being a volunteer firefighter for 25 years and having run a blue light as a blackcoat and a red light as a Chief I can tell you that New York law reserves the use of blue lights for volunterr firefighters and green light for ambulance association members. However since firefighter ambulance crew and police work closely together the use of blue light on cruiser has been allowed and accepted as common practice. You can research the laws on New York State DMV at http://nysdmv.com
Look mr. i hate dumb people, I was using sarcasm here, in response to those who see every NYPD picture (except the horses and cushmans, thankfully) and think they are "fake," so please calm down.
