They were definitely sharp looking and I don't blame troopers for not wanting to go back to the all white with red lettering.

This is an example of our brief two year experiment with a dark blue paint scheme. After having white patrol cars with all red lightbars for years, this color was tried and was short lived. A double gold door stripe was added under the state logo decal along with gold lettering and all blue lightbars. The solid white scheme with the traditional red lettering and blue state decal returned soon afterward. Those first generation all blue Tomar strobe bars (in a Jetstream hosuing) blended very well with the dark blue car and it was very difficult to see an approaching patrol car until it was right on top of you. Troopers hated giving up the dark blue color because of the ease in which to slip up on speeders.
