On the Mars lightbar,could the blue can lights flash without the main rotor lights being on ??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No. All the lights came on at once. You could not have one on without the other.
When'd the CPD switch from blue to white cars?
The first of the white cars hit the street in April of 1975.
I agree with Greg, and I also was told by a ISP Trooper that when wig-wags first came into use the headlight cover motors did not open automatically when wig-wags were activated during daytime use. It was easier to open the light covers, then disconnect them.
Why are the headlamp covers open if the lights aren't on?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The headlamp cover motors in these cars were prone to failure so they were often disconnected after they were opened. That way the lights were always visible.
