The Cherokee Police Department protects the 46,000+ acre tribal lands of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians in western North Carolina. Their area of responsibility covers segmented tribal lands, the largest portion of which is the town of Cherokee. The Cherokee tribal nation provides a great place to tour, hunt, fish, hike, and learn about these great Native Americans. They are also a bike-friendly people, and host events for motorcycle enthusiasts a few times each year. The Great Smoky Mountains provide a great place to ride your private motor.
