This is the van version of the 2cv as said earlier. Anonymous is absolutly right on it.
La Gendarmerie is a military corps which is in charge of the police work throughout the country.
The national police is restricted to the urban area an it's near suburbs.

These were around in pre. 1950's. I had a colleague who bought a brand new car version as late as the mid 80's. This is the van derivative of the Citroen 2CV.
A 2 cylinder aircooled engine of around 600cc. They had linked front to rear suspension at each side, were incredibly comfortable and surprisingley rugged !

This is a Citroen DKW, called a "Duck" by a lot of Europeans, small 2 Liter engine, maybe smaller, no longer made, cheap to run and low tax since most European countries tax on size of the engine. Vary hard to handle, rear is, yes, corrugated metal. WIndows flip down! A bare bones rider. Phil Henning, Lt Col, USAF (Ret)
